|Frequently Asked Questions:
Why do I need a personal trainer?
A personal trainer is qualified to know correct exercises and diet programs to help you reach your goals safely and effectively while monitoring and changing your program. A personal trainer guides and motivates you to stay on track so you can reach your goals in the quickest time.
As your personal trainer I will support you, guide you, giving you my personal attention. Also it is my job to be on the cutting edge of the fitness industry so that I can give you the latest training methods and research.
Do I have to be sore the next day to get a good workout?
No. Muscle soreness can mean you worked out too hard. During your workout the muscles you are working should feel fatigued but you should not be tired and terribly sore the next day.
My style of training is to start with light weight doing several repetitions to build strength and develop toned muscles. I do not believe in creating workouts that put you in pain for days to come.
What happens to our muscles as we age if we are sedentary?
After the age of 30, if a person is not active in working their muscles, they can loose an average of 10 pounds of muscle over a ten year span of time. This means you can loose up to 20 pounds of muscle in 20 years. Unfortunately, it is usually replaced with fat.
You can turn this around by strength training in which 1 pound of muscle burns an estimated 40 calories, so 5 pounds of muscle can burn up to 200 extra calories a day!
Do women who lift weights get big bulky muscles?
Women have different muscle fibers than men and also do not produce the testosterone that a man does. Therefore your muscle will not become bulky.
